Forza Motorsport 8 is the eighth installment in Microsoft’s long-running racing franchise, and it is currently being developed at Turn 10 Studios. However, while there’s still a lot more we don’t know about it, we expect it to make full use of Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and demonstrate the full potential of the company’s most powerful console.
Forza Motorsport will be known simply as Forza Motorsport, rather than Forza Motorsport 8, despite the fact that it will be the eighth installment in the series, according to Turn 10. This is due to the fact that the studio is looking to refresh and reinvigorate the series with this game, which is reflected in the game’s title.
Turn 10 has also taken a step back from the series’ standard two-year development cycle in order to achieve that sense of renewal and reinvigoration. The most recent Forza Motorsport release was Forza Motorsport 7, which came out in 2017, making this the longest period of time since the series’ inception. Turn 10 has overhauled the ForzaTech engine as a result of the additional development time, and the result should be a truly next-gen racing experience that will hopefully be worth the wait.
It’s unclear how much longer we’ll have to wait, as there is currently no release date set for Forza Motorsport. As promised in a development update at the end of 2021, the studio stated that it would have more information to share in 2022, so we can expect to learn more in the coming months. Please continue reading to find out everything we’ve learned so far about Forza Motorsport.

Forza Motorsport Release Date
Unfortunately, no release date has been announced for Forza Motorsport, but when it does, it will be available on the Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and PC platforms. Because the game is being developed for the most recent generation of consoles, we can reasonably expect it to take advantage of some new features, such as ray tracing or even offering 120 frames per second mode. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the same day it is released, as is the case with all Xbox first-party games.
While we don’t have a firm release date (or even a window) for Forza Motorsport at this time, we can make educated guesses about when we might be able to get our hands on the game. When you consider how the pandemic has slowed down game development for many teams, as well as the fact that Forza Horizon 5 is set to release in November 2021, we don’t expect Forza Motorsport to be released until late 2022 at the very earliest.

What’s the news for 2022?
Turn 10 has promised that there will be more Forza Motorsport news in 2022 in a studio update that concludes the year 2021. Regarding the progress made through 2021, the studio mentioned hosting the game’s first-ever external playtests and promising “more changes from FM7 to now than all of the changes we made from FM4 through FM7.” The studio also mentioned hosting the game’s first-ever external playtests.
Turn 10 wrote to conclude the section on Forza Motorsport, stating, “we’ll have more to share about Forza Motorsport in the new year; keep an eye out.” As a result, our team is constantly experimenting, and it is important to note that the technology we have been testing since 2021 is far from being final. For the time being, we’ll continue to test as needed because we understand how important the online racing experience is to our community, and it’s equally important to us that we get this right.”
