Marvel’s Midnight Suns: What We Know So Far!
Taking inspiration from the comic book giant, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game that takes the superhero genre to new levels. Due to the fact that it’s currently in development at Firaxis Games, the same people who brought us Civilization and XCOM, expect some comic capers that are more than just pow and zap.
The game features a cast of original characters as well as a roster of well-known Marvel A-listers that you can recruit into your team, including Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, and Blade. As the squad leader, The Hunter, you’ll be responsible for making the most of your allies’ abilities, which will be managed through a new card-based ability system.
Despite a brief delay, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is expected to release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC in the second half of 2018.

Firaxis Games’ creative director on the project, Jake Solomon, grew up reading and admiring Marvel comics.
“It is an honor for me and the rest of the team to be entrusted with these characters and their stories. When it comes to Marvel fans, RPG fans, and tactical game fans, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will bring these beloved characters to life in a way that you’ve never seen them come to life before.”
Listed below is everything we know about the game thus far:
What is the Release Date
Firaxis Games and 2K Games’ Marvel’s Midnight Suns was originally scheduled for release in March 2022, but a recent social media post revealed that the game has been delayed until the second half of 2022.
In the statement, it is stated that “We decided to push our launch because we need more time to make this the best game possible,” Marvel’s Midnight Suns is based on a creative vision that we believe in, and we want to do it justice by delivering an unforgettable adventure set in the supernatural side of Marvel.”
When it does arrive, it will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Roster of Heroes
The Hunter will be joined by 12 other Marvel heroes in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, in addition to your own character. The characters have so far been confirmed to be the heroes of the following nine comic books:
- Captain America
- Captain Marvel
- Iron Man
- Dr. Strange
- Wolverine
- Ghost Rider
- Magik
- Blade
- Nico Minoru
Aside from the three mystery characters who will no doubt be teased before the game’s release, post-launch content is expected to keep the game interesting by introducing new heroes to your team. If Marvel has anything, it’s plenty of heroes.
Additionally, it appears that each hero will have a set of skins that will allow you to customize the look of your team. A special Blade Nightstalker Skin has already been made available by the game’s publisher, 2K Games, in exchange for signing up for game updates.
