The masters of strategy at Relic are bringing us yet another return to World War II in their latest release. Company of Heroes 3 is rapidly approaching, and it will bring with it a slew of new features that are both surprising and exhilarating to players. The series is one of the most reliable real-time strategy staples available, having managed to maintain its position despite the decline of the genre. A new Company of Heroes is more than welcome, especially given the fact that the real-time strategy field has shrunk significantly in recent years.
Our new entry has more than held the line after 11 hours of play and numerous conversations with members of the team, and we are pleased with its performance. A total of two public playtests of the multiplayer mode have already taken place. Company of Heroes 3 Multiplayer
In a nutshell, it was a glorious cacophony. Keeping up with the ebb and flow of combat can be difficult, as Fraser discovered during his time with it: “The chaos of multiplayer, especially when there is more than one player on the field, is something to behold. There’s stuff going on all over the place, but even right in front of you, there’s often so much going on that it can be difficult to keep track of everything at first. Seeing dueling tanks, the infantry being mowed down by strafing runs, artillery bombarding the area until it’s been terraformed, paratroopers dropping from the sky, buildings collapsing—there are times when I lose track of what I’m supposed to be doing and just stand there, amazed and intimidated. Perhaps a little befuddled.”

Because you won’t have access to the tactical pause, which is a built-in breather in singleplayer, you’ll be forced to maintain your concentration in multiple places at once and decide which skirmishes require your immediate attention and which ones can wait for you to arrive.
