Star Ocean: The Divine Force Plot
The Pangalactic Federation is an intergalactic organization. Starting with their earliest beginnings in the Sol System, this organization has worked to bring peace and tranquility to the galactic populace at large. They have recruited a large number of heroes to fight for them as their empire has spread throughout the universe, saving the lives of planets in need.
However, by the year 583 SD, things have changed significantly. The Pangalactic Federation, which was once known for its peace, is now infamous for assimilating planets against their will. They were once a symbol of justice, but now they are shrouded in darkness.
A standard transport mission takes Raymond, the captain of the merchant vessel Ydas, away from the nonfederated planet of Verguld on a regular basis. Despite the fact that the job is straightforward and the route well-known, things go wrong when the Ydas is attacked by the Astoria, a battleship carrying a member of the Pangalactic Federation’s most prominent family, the Kennys.
After being forced to abandon ship in the midst of the chaos, Raymond and his crewmate Chloe make their way to the remote and underdeveloped planet of Aster IV. Before their escape pods can even make it to the surface of the planet, they are struck by a burst of energy resembling an EMP from the planet’s surface, which knocks out their systems and causes them to crash. Suddenly, they find themselves separated and stranded on an alien world.
When Raymond arrives on the island, he is immediately attacked by some of the less-than-welcoming local wildlife. However, just as everything appears to be lost, his life is saved by Laeticia, the crown princess of the Kingdom of Aucerius. Laeticia is taken aback by the sudden appearance of this man, who she describes as riding into her life on a “shooting star.” She asks Raymond to assist her in saving her kingdom from the threat of the neighboring Vey’l Empire, which is threatening her kingdom. He agrees in exchange for assistance in locating Chloe.
This marks the beginning of their journey on Aster IV. Raymond, on the other hand, will soon discover that he has not yet been able to escape the shadow of the Pangalactic Federation.
