Star Trek: Resurgence Release Date & Trailer

The demise of TellTale Games left a void in the hearts of narrative adventure gamers like myself. That company was responsible for the massive resurgence in popularity of adventure games that we witnessed over the past decade, and its demise as a games developer and publisher was tragic. Star Trek: Resurgence, a narrative adventure game set in the Star Trek universe, is being developed by some of the same people who created some of TellTell’s most successful titles.

Star Trek: Resurgence Release Date

The developers of Star Trek: Resurgence announced the game in late 2021 with the release of a short trailer on YouTube, which was a bit of a surprise. Several scenes from the adventure game gameplay were shown in the trailer, as well as a few cinematic moments and some of the famous characters who will presumably play a role in the narrative.

Almost since the game’s announcement, we’ve known that it would be released in the spring of 2022, primarily because the trailer explicitly stated this at the very end of the video. Not many details have been released since the trailer was released, so we are still unsure of when the game will be released, which is expected to be in Spring.

So far, the only significant hints at the game’s gameplay have come from a trailer posted to the developer’s YouTube channel, as well as a FAQ posted on the game’s official website by the developers. When asked about the game’s gameplay, the developers stated that it would be similar to TellTalle Games’ adventure titles in many ways, but that it would also include some improvements here and there to bring it up to date.

Walking around and interactive cinematics are likely to constitute the majority of the game’s modes, which will be separated into two categories. This was the formula that TellTale used for many of their releases, and based on the trailer, it appears to have been followed here as well. During the walking segments, you will explore a particular area and interact with the objects that you come across. During interactive cinematics, you’ll have to make dialogue decisions, and there’s also the possibility of QTEs, though whether or not Dramatic Labs will include them in Star Trek: Resurgence is still up in the air at this point.
