Electricity is one of the most important resources required for every citizen in the world. Without electricity, we cannot imagine a single day. As Electricity is one of the most important resources people were asked to save electricity. Due to the wastage of electricity, there are various regions in the world that cannot get the proper electricity at their doorstep. But according to the sources now it is observed that in India the annual electricity usage has been fell. This is for the first time that such an incident came forward. It happened for the first time in the past 35 years in the fiscal year to March. The Reuters analysis of the government data shows that this is mainly due to strict coronavirus-induced lockdowns across the country. This is a positive effect that came forward. As with this step, there will be a lot of regions which were earlier not able to access the electricity now they can get.
Fall in Power Generation
It was observed that during the year 2020 to 2021 the power generation fell 0.2% if we compare it with the previous year. According to the sources, the main reason found behind this fall in the electricity was the lockdown impositions to the various parts of the country. This has resulted in a decline in electricity production for six straight months ending in August.
As the usage of the power has been reduced for the first time in past 35 years. Earlier it was observed that the demand for electricity has risen. As the generations grew 23.3% in March from a year earlier. The data has shown that since March 2010 the demand was risen due to the increasing population in the country. But due to this lockdown, things have turned the tables. However, this was a dramatic fall in power usage.

Also, the higher temperature as summer has arrived the electricity is now used in abundance by the citizens of the country. All this has led to more use of electricity in India.
