 It is confirmed that NVDIA is on the way to develop an alternative technology, which the functioning system to be similar to that of AMD Smart Access Memory, in order to work on the RTX 30 series GPUs. During AMD’s Radeon RX 6000 announcement, the company revealed a brand new technology that goes by the name of Smart Access Memory. For this technology to function, AMD stated that the customers would have to put together a Radeon RX 6000 graphics card and a Ryzen 5000 series processor. Another necessity is that the motherboard must have the AGESA firmware update installed. NIVIDIA’s version will undoubtedly support both intel and AMD CPUs. Normally, Windows-based PCs will strictly be able to work with only a fraction of the total VRAM of the graphics card, and hence, limiting its overall performance. By utilising the Smart Access Memory, the data channel is extended, permitting the system to fully exploit the bandwidth of the PCIe, increasing the performance.

 As per the statement given to GamerNexus by NVIDIA, Smart Access Memory/resizable BAR is “part of the PCI Express spec,” depicting that the NVIDIA graphics card will also be able to support such complex technology. NVIDIA has personally been experimenting on this feature specifically, and it will not be excluded among the many support systems for Ampere GPUs in the “future software updates.” AMD’s own performance progresses hint at the various possibilities on gaining up tp 11% performance, while enabling Smart Access Memory. As reported by NVIDIA, their internal tests are also simultaneously displaying similar performance structures. Though it isn’t mentioned if AMD will stretch its technology to the older versions of AMD processors or intel CPUs, but it sure will deliver a jam-packed performance with its Smart Access Memory.
