Sony Finalize the Prices of PlayStation 5, hardware accessories, games for India

Sony’s newest next-gen console finally has a release date in many countries except India. However, the company has revealed the prices for the Indian market. The console will hit most of the countries on 15th November 2020, at first, and will come back for a second round on 19th November 2020. Most of the details are out in the open now. The only thing unknown is when PS5 will hit the Indian Markets. Unfortunately, PS5 will take longer than expected to release in India since Sony doesn’t own the PS5 trademark.

PlayStation 5  India Prices

Sony has confirmed that both the versions of the PS5 are releasing in India. The Standard PS5 variant with a 4K Blu-ray disc drive will cost Rs. 49,990 ($680). The Digital Edition of the PS5 shall be available for Rs. 39,990 ($544). Both variants share similar specifications. The prices are almost similar to that of Microsoft’s Xbox Series. The Xbox Series X and Series S have different features and are available for Rs. 49,990 ($680) and Rs. 34,990 ($475), respectively.

PS5 Hardware and Games Prices

In addition to the actual console, Sony also mentioned the price details for external hardware accessories that are compatible. Here are the prices:

  • DualSense Charging Station – Rs. 2,590
  • DualSense Wireless Controller – Rs. 5,990
  • HD Camera – Rs. 5,190
  • Media Remote – Rs. 2,590
  • PULSE 3D Wireless Headset – Rs. 8,590

Speaking of the games, Sony declared that the PS5 has new additions to its gaming library. Among several names, one name which caught the eye of the audience was Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Titles like Demon’s Souls, Destruction Allstars, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition cost Rs. 4,999. Further, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Standard Edition are available for Rs. 3,999.

PS5  Availability

At the PS5 launch, Sony initially wished to release the console in select online stores for pre-orders. The company confirmed that the PS5 is releasing on 15th November 2020 in Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, and the United States. The plan was to release the console in India on 19th November 2020. However, a man from Delhi bought the trademark for the PS5 before Sony could. Until the matter is resolved and the rights are with Sony, India will have to wait!
