India finally has a release date on Google’s Pixel 4a! The phone made its global debut about two months ago. However, Google didn’t reveal many details about its release in India. At the time, it was only official that it will release sometime in October, but the accurate date was unknown. The Pixel 4a is the only option for Indians to experience Android 11 features since Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 is not being launched in India.
Price and Availability
Google has declared that the phone will launch during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale on 16th October. Initially, it will cost only Rs.29,999, which is roughly equivalent to $410. Shortly after, the price will hike up to Rs. 31,999 ($545).
The previous Pixel models were sold at a very high price. They cost almost $150 to $200 more than the US retail price. Since Pixel 4a is starting at a comparatively low price, it may possibly rack up the sales in the country.

Google’s competition and Other devices
Pixel 4a is in close competition to the OnePlus Nord and OnePlus 7T when it comes to the price. Google has played a power move by offering the phone for just Rs. 29,999. Since it is much less than what Pixel 3a costed, the customers will surely prefer this phone over most other phones in the market. Another reason apart from the price is the phone’s software and camera.
Besides the Pixel 4a, Google is also launching the Nest Audio on the same day. Initially, it will cost Rs. 6,999 ($95) and will then increase to Rs. 7,999 ($110).
